Fearn / Fern

This ogham is associated with the alder tree, the seagull, and the color crimson. Fearn is especially helpful for keeping energy grounded no matter how crazy life may be. Carve or paint it on a small piece of wood or a crystal to use as a protective charm. Keep it in a small decorative bag to carry with you or keep in your car. This charm can also be used to foster prophetic dreams by placing it on your bedside table. For clarity in divination, hold the charm between your palms before each session. Red garnet or lapis lazuli with obsidian are especially effective to work with the energy of this ogham. Fearn also aids in developing spiritual practices that hold strong personal meaning. Inscribe this symbol on a candle for support when contacting spirit guides.

When used in conjunction with the seagull, Fearn aids in communicating with deities and spirits. Draw the ogham on a picture or figurine of a seagull and hold it between your hands to provide clarity for messages and omens, especially those that seem particularly obscure at first.
